Re: Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

Your link already explains it quite well: The ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock (Model # 250410U) contains basic pass-through connections for notebook ports, including power pass-through. It comes without integrated power supply but provides the same power jack as found in a ThinkPad, an AC-Adapter is inc...

Re: Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

I will try to explain one more time: I've got a Lenovo T400 notebook put into a Lenovo Advanced Mini Dock. The dock has a DVI-out that is connected to a external LCD-monitor. I boot up the System by pressing the power-button on the dock, i.g. the notebook's lid is closed and the internal monitor isn...

Re: Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

I simply want to use my external monitor via docking-station at home without having a glitchy desktop, no dual monitor setup etc., the laptop itself stays closed.

Re: Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

That's how I configured Arandr: 2013-03-01-112414_1680x1050_scrot.png Two desktops in one: 2013-02-20-170950_1680x1050_scrot.png If I create a file on one of the "desktops" it appears on the other, too. If I delete it, it disappears on the other... Clicking on one of the desktops brings it...

Re: Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

I already checked Arandr. Lxrandr is just the default monitor configurator provided with Lubuntu.

Re: Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

Unfortunately Grandr isn't provided via official libraries in Lubuntu 12.10 anymore. Is there any possibility to get it anyway? I'm really not too deep into the linux-world ...

Tried it one more time, doesn't make any difference. After rebooting with the external monitor there are two desktops in one.

Re: Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

Hello Rex Bouwense, I'm using Lubuntu 12.10, freshly installed, no dual boot at all. Changing the theme (my default is Clearlooks-3.4) doesn't take any effect on the desktop. it really seems to be a weird problem. I already consulted the German ubuntuuser-forums but nobody had a clue what to do. Bes...

Strange desktop behaviour when using external monitor

Hello fellow lxde-users, when using a external monitor there are 2 similar desktops blend together (the attached screen shot should help you understand). 2013-02-27-235749_1680x1050_scrot.png I'm using a Lenovo T400 and a 1680x1050 monitor. The internal resolution is 1400x900. I don't want to use th...
