Hi Drooly, The only differences between the output of xprop on the three icons were the values of _NET_WM_SYNC_REQUEST_COUNTER(CARDINAL), _NET_WM_USER_TIME(CARDINAL), _NET_WM_USER_TIME_WINDOW(WINDOW). icon1 (left-most icon) _NET_WM_SYNC_REQUEST_COUNTER(CARDINAL) = 20975609, 20975610 _NET_WM_USER_TIM...

This just happened again, only this time I have 3 icons on top of everything ( a new p.b.). Hi Drooly, thanks for your help! can you click it, doubleclick it, drag it, right-click it? what happens then? I cannot do any of those things, they were my first thoughts as well.
