the webcam has no sound OUT might be the reason, so when you go to F6 try tabbing to go to capture devices.
if that gives you an error....in lxterminal try this command as a local user to get to inputs
alsamixer -c 1 -V=all
where I assume internal is card 0 and usb is card 1

hi yes it looks like....altho your first post does not specify......that your bootloader has had its default set to memtest......... and I assume....altho you don't specify....your distro is using a "hidden" menu.....so you are unable to see the choices to arrow down or up to...instead of ...

oops forgot to mention check your pcm level in alsamixer as well. 2) well thats a different question. I use xorg so mine is set by a /etc/X11/xorg.conf and I use a Nvidia closed source binary to taint my kernel so you may need to post a separate thread and mention what you are using please like LXDE...

try going to the download page and not the home page (I use firefox 3.6.3)

click on the link....there may be a pause then it should show the iso file name.
otherwise....for a right handed person .....right hand click the link for the cd image and choose....save link as.
