Re: Problem getting applications to autostart at start up

Thank you to all who responded. The last two suggestions both work. For others having difficulty with this, the most complete answer is in the link provided by Rex Bouwense above.

Re: Problem getting applications to autostart at start up

Thanks, somebody pointed me to that file on the Ubuntu forum, too. The problem is I do not know in what form to "add" them. I have tried simply writing their names (e.g. wuala) - that doesn't work. The instructions in the link you kindly provided simply say the file should be: "edited...

Re: Problem getting applications to autostart at start up

Thanks for both your suggestions. Yeah, I found "Default applications for LXSession (lxsession-default-apps), but its not exactly user friendly! I have no idea how to add the commands for my chosen applications. Can anyone tell me?

Problem getting applications to autostart at start up

Hi, I'm running Lubuntu 13.10 on a desktop computer. I want Wuala and Ubuntu One to launch automatically on start up. ("Connect automatically when computer starts" is checked in Ubuntu One client, but even so it does not start automatically). I have dropped their desktop files from /usr/sh...

Re: Boot problem after clean install of lubuntu 13.10

Not lost. I like Lubuntu and use it on my other computer. Would be nice to have a LTS release though.

Re: Boot problem after clean install of lubuntu 13.10

Thank you for answering. This issue was thrashed out here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... st12839519

Seems it's a persistent problem Lubuntu has had with SIS graphics. Have installed Xubuntu instead.

Boot problem after clean install of lubuntu 13.10

Hi, I have freshly installed Lubuntu 13.10 on an old Advent laptop (1000 MB RAM) which was previously running Ubuntu 12.04. I changed because I felt Unity was a bit heavy for this machine and was quite slow. The installation appeared to have carried through successfully (in fact it told me it had). ...

Re: Mailto links in Chromium will not open Thunderbird

Chromium and Thunderbird were set as my default applications. I was unclear how to use the patch in the bug report, but I figured it out, so I'll write it down here for my and others' future reference: 1. As sudo open /usr/bin/xdg-email. 2. Search for and comment out the lines marked "-" i...

Re: Mailto links in Chromium will not open Thunderbird

@ edward, quite: "should" is the operative word. But they don't! This issue persists, now on a different machine with freshly installed Lubuntu 12.04, Chromium version 25.0.1364.160, Thunderbird 17.0.4. @ Rex Bouwense, sorry I threw out my toys. You're right of course. What further info ca...
