How to use other tools [nautilus + gnome terminal]?

Post by mabra »

Hi !

I've just installed lxde [UBuntu 12.04, server, starting just with SSH only].
Under standard apps, I added nautilus, because PCManxx is not that useful.
No, in the taskbar, the symbol is missing, and no nautilus [sure: I apt-get(it)]. I can select it from
the "others" menu. BTW, I have only six entries on toplevel of the menu, and the most games
play in "others" ... [a screenful !], missing sensful grouping.
And bet best for me would be: To get rid of the two terminal under system tools. But
if I try to remove them, the whole lxde would be removed ...

Some tips would be great!

Best regards,

lxmed probably is in synaptic package manager or software center for Lubuntu (but I can't swaer to it, I run Debian testing)

If not

Hello !

Hey, wow, this helped a lot !! Much thanks.

I found some of this links, but was not sure, if this is relevant for my case.
I am a step near now; But have to go thru this again, lot of possibilities.

BTW, on another machine, I used the debian (wheezy/testing) installer
and a lot of things are really very improved on it !!
