Hi,
I've just installed Lubuntu12.10 on my P4 desktop system. After installation and updating the packages i started removing packages i don't use. With the removal of 1 package, guvcview, also the lubuntu-desktop package was removed but till now i don't have any problems or issues after removing the lubuntu-desktop package. Even synaptic says it is safe to remove.
But now, every time when i boot my system, it shows the GRUB menu in which i have to select to start Lubuntu. I really don't know how i got this, but my question is: how can i setup GRUB that it automatically boots Lubuntu without showing the GRUB menu?

Re: GRUB menu showing at boot
Two other ideas: [1] Install startup-manager and use it to set a default operating system; [2] Replace your display manager - good lightweight choices are lightdm, slim and lxdm. You likely are using one of these now - check synaptic to see which one.
