Leafpad: How long can be the file (and how can I set it)?

Post by riveravaldez »

Hi, I was opening some log files with leafpad (just because it's easier to
copy-paste than nano) and then I realized that if the file is longer/bigger than
[how much?] it doesn't show complete, but only to some line/point.

How big is the maximum size of a file that leafpad can open properly/full?
How can I set that value so it can show files as bigger as the system supports?

Thanks a lot! (and sorry for the poor English)

sorry i don't have a direct answer for your question, however:
if you're experienced enough to look at log files, you should choose a different text editor.
i recommend geany - it is as lightweight as leafpad, but has a gazillion of features...

that said, just opening a plain textfile of, say, more than 10MB, can take a while.
you might want to consider learning a little nano, because it will be faster there (copying by highlighting, pasting with mouse middle-click or shift+insert).
