Operating System:
Manjaro (32bit) LXDE

Hardware:
Dell "LATITUDE" 2100 netbook

With LXDE I am not able to suspend/hibernate my netbook when closing the monitor.

:| What I was able to find out is to install pm-utils to get the suspend/hibernate script in the logout dialog menu.

How do I enable my netbook to suspend/hibernate when closing monitor automatically?

What Power manager are you using? In Lubuntu, which of course is a variation of Ubuntu using lxde, we have the xfce Power Manager and ther options to hybernate and suspend under that.

There are acouple of packages i've installed for power management:
gnome-power-manager
xfce4-power-manager
pm-utils

Even with these installed I still don't have the option to enable automatic hibernate when I close my netbook monitor. The only thing that I have installed is the Suspend/Hibernate scripts in the logout dialog menu.

After re-reading your initial post, I take you can hibernate using the terminal. Is that correct? However, you cannot hibernate using the xfce power manager to automatically do it when the lid is closed.

[SOLVED] I figured it out :D

What I didn't know was that xfce4-power-manager is a dialog menu. So I opened it's dialog menu and enabled all the necessary options and it was everything I was looking and it works. :)

So what I did was remove gnome-power-manager as it was only a dialog menu that displayed power information which is the same thing xfce4-power-manager could do aswell.

so now what i have is the following packages:

pm-utils (for hibernate/suspend in logout dialog menu)
xfce4-power-manager (hibernate/suspend preferences & battery/AC configuration)
