OK, I've got Lubuntu 11.04 (3rd of a tripleboot) on an Asus Eee. I installed it a couple of weeks ago, set the wireless "available to all users", and all is well. All I have to do is click the icon, select my router, and it connects.
Now, all of a sudden, I click the icon and it brings up the authentication window. I don't know what caused it.
I tried re-editing the info, but all the required info is already in place (password and check ticked for all users).
Any thoughts on how to correct this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Glad to see more users are using Lubuntu. It's unquestionably my favourite.
Just few questions so that I can help:
1- Why you click anything to be connected? you are supposed to be connected once your machine starts on.
2- Are we talking about "Keyring" or "Wireless Authentication" where you have to enter your Router Password?

Re: Issue with wireless authentication on Lubuntu 11.04
Yes. I had it set "for all users" so I would not have to enter the WPA code every time, and it worked until yesterday. Now for some reason, the Wireless Authentication comes up every time I try to connect. I checked all the settings, and they are still set, but it won't work.amjjawad wrote:2- Are we talking about "Keyring" or "Wireless Authentication" where you have to enter your Router Password?

Do you get this ONLY when you start your machine and login to Lubuntu? I mean does it pop up once and that's it? or it keeps popping up every now and then? do you lose the connection to your Router while logging in? I mean do you have any disconnection?

Re: Issue with wireless authentication on Lubuntu 11.04
It doesn't have anything to do with starting Lubuntu. My wireless internet connection is not automatic. I have to click the icon to select my wireless router.
Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJBlbquEqjo
The video is how my desktop 11.04 works properly. When I do the same thing on my netbook 11.04, I get the Authentication window.
--I'm probably just going to install 11.10 on here anyway, so it's not that important any more.

OK but my point is, you should be connected automatically. This is what happens with me:Bob E wrote:It doesn't have anything to do with starting Lubuntu. My wireless internet connection is not automatic. I have to click the icon to select my wireless router.

I turn my machine on, login to Lubuntu, enter the keyring and I'm Online.
However, sometimes, my Range Extender stops working so I have to reboot it. Only at that time, I got the authentication pop-up message.
Also, I noticed while testing 11.10 that the Authentication pop-up was showing up at the login time rather than Keyring. I already reported that to Lubuntu Team.
If you'll install 11.10, please make sure to use Torrent and keep Seeding
By the way, how did you make that video? what app are you using?

I don't have a login. During any install, I always choose "log in automatically".amjjawad wrote:

I use Openshot. That one was not very good, I made it in a hurry. Look here at the other videos I made with Openshot on different Linux distros. http://www.youtube.com/user/AYTFS#g/uBy the way, how did you make that video? what app are you using?

Which is NOT safe at all. It's much better to have a login User Name and Password.Bob E wrote:I don't have a login. During any install, I always choose "log in automatically".

I'm sorry, this is off-topic but I do need such tool/program for my work because I'm a member of Ubuntu Forum, Lubuntu Team and LXDE Team as well and I write Guides, Howto, etc so that will come in handy

You just add your own music (MP3, WAV, OGG).amjjawad wrote: Very nice. What about Music? what program is that?
