First of all, I have not install Lubuntu yet. I am using it Live first to try it out. It was suggested to me. I am familiar with Ubuntu.
Anyway, looks like Lubuntu comes with NDIS Wrapper. I installed the driver (inf files), enabled wireless, but still can't see any wireless networks that are broadcasted.
It's almost like I'm missing a step. I tried to ifconfig down and then back up. But I was denied permissions and can't get root access.
Does anyone know the default password for root when using this Live?

Re: Wireless won't see broadcasted networks
I noticed that on live myself couldnt get it to work.
I installed lubuntu 11.10 anyway checked for ndiswrapper (as it was installed in live) its not installed when you install to disk. so I had to dig up a older buntu disk and install ndiswrapper packages that way. (ndiswrapper will upgrade to newer version with the update manager)

People ask me "Why is it free?" and I tell them very slowly "Cause it don't cost you anything."
