How to change the 'Start" Menu font?

Post by GrouchyGaijin »

Hi Folks,

Well this is the end of week one using lubuntu as my main OS.
I dig it. My old laptop feels new again :D

I have a question for which I have not been able to find an answer.
How can I change the font in the "Start" menu?
Specifically the start menu uses one font and I'd like it to use a different font.

Could someone tell me where that setting is controlled?
I've looked in Desktop preferences, Customize look and feel, the panel preferences (including the config file for the panel), the theme settings (gtk2, gtk3, openbox and unity). Where is this setting??

Ubuntu is a nice font and all, but I'd like to use something else.

Use the LXDE preference menu to Open "Openbox Configuration Manager" in 12.04 and later, click "Appearance" tab.
Right click on the bottom panel and select "Panel Settings" to change the panel font size
Use the LXDE preferences menu to open "Customize Look and Feel". Click the Widget tab.

Change the taskbar font size here.

Thank you for the reply Rex. Actually I have looked there.
I didn't find the answer to my question.
The menu (it kind of looks like a start menu in that other OS) doesn't seem to be controlled by Look and Feel nor by the panel.
(Could be that I am just not seeing the option) What I want to do is change the font that is used in the menu. I do not want to change the size of the font in the panel itself.
This is what I see if I right click the menu.

Never mind - I see that I must have forgotten to click apply when I was in the Look and Feel options before.
