Running Slow

Hello,
I've been using lubuntu for about 6 months, and now it started to run a bit slow.
I want to know if it is because (I think) i installed gnome when i installed some software. Here is a sistem report from System Profiler

yes, that's the reason.
it's not recommendable to install 2 desktop environments side by side.
uninstall the app that pulled in all those dependencies, and make sure you also uninstall all those dependencies.
if you're lucky, after a reboot everything will be back to normal!

Besides, the OP's report indicates that only the LXDE is installed. There must be some other cause and it may very well be hardware. I have read that lengthy report and I could find nothing.

elrubiocapo5: Since the term slow is relative. What exactly are you talking about and what are the indications? Are you getting any other symptoms other than loss of speed? Have you checked the Synaptic Package Manager for broken packages? Is this an upgrade or a new install?

i think there's a way to install more than 1 DE and make it work, but i never succeeded.
however, what op describes there is this (afaiu): install an application that pulls in the whole gnome desktop meta-package.
resulting in a mess of conflicting system services and daemons everytime you login.
i guess "installing more than 1 DE" was not precise in this case.
