I have single-click-to-open enabled, but i don't want hover-to-select.

how can i disable that?

Welcome to the LXDE forum. I believe that what you are looking for can be found in Edit->Preferences->General. Directly below where you chose to open with a single click there is a sliding bar. If you move it to 0, it is supposed to disable the auto selection.
