Volume control goes missing from lxpanel

Every now and then the volume control icon on the system tray disappears, in which case i add the item back to the system tray/lxpanel. Question is, how do i keep the volume control icon from disappearing.

Welcome to the LXDE forum. Could you provide a little more information please. What Operating System are you using? What version of LXPanel seems to be the culprit?

LXPanel 0.5.10

So i just installed volumeicon-alsa and ran it (command: volumeicon).

Then added the program to the autostart file in /home/[user]/.config/lxsession/LXDE/autostart

This seems like it will solve my problems.
