New Theme Realized

Post by shae »

rafaellaguna earlier posted a mockup of a theme, but it seems that the files have disappeared from his server. Luckly the screenshot remained and I used that as inspiration to peace together a new theme which combines a modern, fresh approach with colors that stay out of the way of the user. I have completed or found the following that fits nicely together:
  • Wallpaper (pending permission for usage)
  • Icon Theme based on Humanity Icon Theme
  • GTK Theme based on Clearlooks
  • Openbox Theme
  • Panel Background
  • Menu Icon
Please check out the screenshot I have included. Once I receive permission to use the wallpaper, I will post the completed theme here for you guys to try out first hand. In the meantime, I would love to hear what you think?

Man, I'm really liked this desktop!
Very, very good! :D
But, I think that the icon theme that fit better to that desktop theme is the Elementary icon theme or similar.

I will give the elementary icons a look, but I think I am going to tweak the color of the humanity theme a bit before releasing it tonight! I remember I tried the elementary icons some time ago and I was not amazed, but I will give them a try tonight to see what I think. One thing worth noting is that any icon theme that distributes icons for Firefox might be in a bit of a legal mess and we might want to avoid or remove those from the theme we pick.

I would like to thank Joseph Dye for permission to use the Wallpaper (I had to ask because he did not seem to list a license when he posted it around the Internet).

So please check out the theme on your computer when I post it later today after I finish my classes (at school now).

Hi,

both themes look very good. I prefer the second. The other one is a bit glossy ;)
