I added LXDE recently to Tiny Core Linux (TC), a small, modular and fast growing system.

Re: LXDE on Tiny Core Linux
Yes, this is true. It is not just ported, but I'm using it also It fits perfectly to TC philosophy, to be fast and modular. What is also great in TC that you can choose to run applications from RAM or mounted from a media not only globally but per applications, while core is always in RAM.
LXDE is great with its freedesktop.org compatibility, small size, etc.
I'm planning to create a customized TC CD with LXDE preinstalled.

Great
Let us know when there is something testable. Is an installer for TC planed, or is this installation method your intention?

Re: LXDE on Tiny Core Linux
Will do so. Plan is to create a CD ISO with LXDE and most common applications installed so works out of box but can be extended with modules from the TC repository and of course can be installed on USB or HD.maces wrote:Great

But you can go now to TC WEB site, install current version and add LXDE from the repo. It is easy to do. I'm writing this post on my notebook running TC, LXDE and Firefox and using WIFI.

bmarkus
hi
I am new to TC but ex Mandriva now Debian sid LXDE user. I can see from http://tinycorelinux.com/install.html that hard drive preferred bootloader is grub legacy. I am now a grub2 fan.
Question
What login manager do TC prefer please?
My eyesight or ignorance or both can not easily spot it at
http://wiki.tinycorelinux.com/tiki-inde ... +MicroCore
Forgive me for any hijack and please ignore me from now on.
Either way, with only a tiny more download I am excited to download any LXDE- TC distro
regards
