Hi,

I followed the tutorial at http://forum.lxde.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=494 but I'm afraid the script is not working for me, with these results when I intend to run it:

Code: Select all

marcelo@elsa:~$ eeepc_battery_alarm.pl
/usr/bin/eeepc_battery_alarm.pl: line 11: sub: command not found
cat: /proc/acpi/battery/BAT*/state: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/eeepc_battery_alarm.pl: line 12: =: command not found
/usr/bin/eeepc_battery_alarm.pl: line 13: syntax error near unexpected token `('
/usr/bin/eeepc_battery_alarm.pl: line 13: ` @string_plug = split(/\s+/, $plug);'
marcelo@elsa:~$
Zenity is installed. What could it be happening?
Thanks very much.

(Samsumg Series 5 (64amd), Debian Wheezy, Fluxbox).

I started a new thread for you. You posted to a thread that was almost 4 1/2 years old. It would be unlikely to get meaningful responses. Besides Operating systems change. If you need to add anything feel free to edit your post. The previous thread has been closed.

Because of ease of use and the gear can handle it.

I sold my eeepcs Rex and bought a couple of American made atom netbooks in their stead.

Anyhows. I went with this
http://antix.freeforums.org/batti-gtk-solved-t4662.html
notification on low and critical battery status
for window managers like fluxbox slit and Icewm toolbar and it works just fine. Just a suggestion. Nothing more.
Good luck and Happy Trails, Rok

Now I feel bad. I suppose that it is time for a new computer but the ones I have are working fine (so far). I have not had a complaint (yet) with the ASUS and the old Dell just keeps plugging along. I recently put Bodhi Linux on it and was impressed once again. I guess I live right. Have fun in Pecos. We just left the Rio Grande Valley enroute to Arizona. Enjoy.
