Hi guys,

I'm a newbe and no techie but I have google and tried everthing to edit LXDE main menu. I want to remove most of the Other sub menu entries because they are double entries of nearly all the other categories Accessories, Graphics, Internet etc
(see screen shot).

Thanking everyone in advance ;)

Welcome to the LXDE forum. There is an excellent "how to add to or edit the menu in lxde"
See here
http://wiki.lxde.org/en/Main_Menu
Is that what you are looking for?

The Categories Menu for the lxde-menu is /etc/xdg/menus/lxde-application.menu. Removing the Other category from this file should remove it from the main menu.
Keep a copy of the original should you want to return. See http://lxlinux.com/#9 for additional information. Removing an individual item from the Other category requires finding the pertinent .desktop file for that item and editing it so that NoDisplay=true. This is messy because .desktop files can be anywhere. See http://lxlinux.com/#11.
