How to get lxde WITHOUT systemd dependencies?

In addition to security-related problems of systemd stuff (+500K lines of inaudited code, running at PID=1, ...)
if I try to replace upstart with systemd, my ARM Cortex-A9 development board - which is running Ubuntu Linaro - will crash while booting!
That's why I would like to install LXDE without any of systemd dependencies. Please tell me, how to do it?
