A temporary fix was to inactivate "flat buttons" in "Task Bar (Window List)" Settings.

It's not the window color I'm after.
It's the color font of the Task Buttons in LXpanel I want to change. Where are these settings?

Changing inactive LXpanel object (window) color
Running Lubuntu 12.10. LXpanel 0.5.11 and LXAppearance 0.5.2. My LXpanel looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/QNqX8.png As you can see the Opera window is selected and the LXterm is deselected.
