Re: LXDM: Processes Pause on User Switch

Please tell us something about your system.
Distro, mostly, version, up-to-dateness etc.

In most cases the answer lies in

Code: Select all

/etc/systemd/logind.conf

Re: Keyboard backlight in LXLE

I cannot speak for LXLE (or, the last time I tested it in a VM it failed), but on Debian 10 LXDE autostart goes like this: ⋅  write yourself a miniscript (let's call it mystart, and let's save it right in your home folder) that does what you want. Usually it’s good to add a little delay be...

Re: Can't change focus or drag windows

Using 'make' implies compilation, so yes, you did compile. Or, most likely. The answer lies in the makefile of the ffmpeg package you downloaded.

Re: Can't change focus or drag windows

Seems you figured it out anyhow. FWIW: what you described in post #1 could've just been your system being under a lot of stress whilst compiling ffmpeg (btw, prebuilt downloads exist). But you did so much "stuff" to "fix" it, that by now I can't really help you. Just one thing: y...

Re: Further development.

I don't think LXDE is "poorly maintained". It looks sufficiently active to me: https://github.com/LXDE TBH, I'm not even sure if gpicview is officially part of LXDE - it does not show up on that github page at all. What have you been working on, some links? Also, Linux isn't exactly poor i...

Re: cario-dock in lxde

Hi installed Fedora-18-lxde-spin on my second machine. On my first one with fuduntu I got used to cairo-dock. Fudunutu uses gnome 2.32 Will cario-dock work on lxde? If yes where is the source? Fedora is currently at version 31, so 18 is about six years out of date. Gnome is currently at 3.34 and 2....

Re: Actual installation instructions

OK. This is tricky; basically you have to install the OS of your choice without any graphical environment, then just install LXDE on top of that. But there are pitfalls, mostly around graphical drivers. Therefore I recommend to install a distro with a graphical environment (but not the one you want)...

Yes.
Maybe now you need to install a little differently?

What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Why not just use one of the distros that comes with an LXDE desktop already?

Re: Fstab parse error with cifs

Apart from the * it looks ok to me, but I'm not sure the double quotes are required.
What exactly is at line 16?
Please use code tags to show us that code.
