Re: Invisible Text in Dialogue Boxes

Leaving the tone of your reply aside for you to ponder, I note that Palemoon (a fork of Firefox) runs just fine with no issues at all with Budgie DE on a linux OS. how do you know what tone i replied in? you're just filling the emotional void of internet communications with something you found in y...

Re: Invisible Text in Dialogue Boxes

@drooly: To expand on that: (a) why is LXDE imposing a desktop preference on the interior dialogue boxes of websites in the first place; and (b) if it is going to do so, why does it impose only the white text and not the dark background from the imposed theme? who says they don't work? it's your br...

Re: Live disk

two things:

  1. the solution for matured hardware is to run an up-to-date system that caters to such situations, and not deliberately run an outdated version. usually antiX is recommended.
  2. you won't find anybody who will make a live disk tailored to your wishes just for you

Re: Joining the Design project and new lxde logo

that looks really nice, but i must admit i never really liked the swallow. too pointy, doesn't look good in small sizes.
mayeb you can come up with some new shape altogether.
also consider LxQt.

Re: Possible to Disable Desktop Auto Sorting of Newly-Created (Folder/File) Icons?

^ idesk does not support drag'n'drop if i remember correctly.

@op: lxde is lightweight; this means that not all features are available. it seems what you want is one of those features.

Re: filename extension/suffix

Linux is (was) about flexibility and choice given to the user. Filename extensions for files I create are my choice. You have taken away choosing to show filename extensions for 'registered' file types. Not cool. More than one person has requested that choice to show all file extensions/suffixes, y...

Re: Trouble with VLC

the usual first troubleshooting step is:
open a terminal, enter 'vlc', and post the output here. preferably between code tags. thanks.
PS: don't be root when doing this.

Re: Possible to Disable Desktop Auto Sorting of Newly-Created (Folder/File) Icons?

Every time I create a new Folder or File on the Desktop (by right-clicking the Desktop and selecting 'Create New' from the popup menu), the newly-created requisite (Folder or File) icon is immediately aligned/moved on the Desktop, rather than it being placed precisely in the area where my mouse poi...
