Solved-Re: Is there a way to disable KB char auto repeat?
Thanks again guys! drooly, you're right xset is an x command. it even has a manpage. xset -r is the proper invocation for my system to disable KB autorepeat. xset doesn't have a config file, so it's affect lasts for a session. It may be possible to invoke xset from a login script to automate the pro...

Re: Is there a way to disable KB char auto repeat?
Thanks for the replies guys! I think your suggestion i working! FWIW, I have openSuese 13.2 and use Zshell for both me an root. typing this into a shell stops autorepeat in more than one shell. It's as if this changes the environment. frank[5194] xset r off frank[5195] k I need to experiment with th...

Re: HowTo change lxde file manager (pcmanfm to dolphin)?
Thanks for the replies guys! PaulW2U, I'm up to date now with the user control panel - thanks! seppalta, thanks for the feedback. That's where I am now with both pcmanfm and dolphin available. I may leave things that way, but I'm tempted to try one more experiment. That would be to change the execut...

HowTo change lxde file manager (pcmanfm to dolphin)?
Hello again list, moderators! Two things, but the primary thing is in the subject. This help request is for a Pentium4 desktop with opensuse 12.3-32 and lxde desktop. On google I found examples of changing pcmanfm to nautilus which seems complicated by the mime-types change that goes with it. Most o...

Hello again list! I'm replying back to myself and the list to show the mechanism I used to put the CD/DVD Creator into my main "Sound & Video" menu. The following is the contents of cddvdcreator.desktop located in ~/.local/share/applications [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Exec=nautilus...

Re: Executable Name for CD/DVD Creator?
Thank you seppalta! You have solved this thread for me! Besides the CD/DVD Creator I get these complaints in the terminal: frank[5006] nautilus --no-default-window --no-desktop burn:/// ** (nautilus:1593): WARNING **: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnkn...

Re: Executable Name for CD/DVD Creator?
Thanks again to the responders! Regarding your question, vasa1, Why do you say that gvfsd-burn is not an executable? It's a fair question and I can't say definitively gvfsd-burn is not an executable. Some applications like nautilus may call that as a library function, but I can't execute gvfsd-burn ...

Re: Executable Name for CD/DVD Creator?
Thanks for responses folks! lbsUser, somehow I missed your input! Thanks for your contribution. The main reason to me for knowing the lxde rev level is that with other desktops it's customary to include that information in a post. Problems with old SW are often fixed in newer versions. Rex, sorry to...

Re: Executable Name for CD/DVD Creator?
Thank you for the reply, vasa1! I'm out of blank media at the moment, but when I get some again I can try ps -ef > stat.txt before and after invocation of CD/DVD Creator. I don't have any way of invoking CD/DVD Creator without a blank optical media. I don't have an "apt" command, but I did...
