Re: Distributions with LXDE installation images (2022)

Void linux also has LXDE in it's repositories but no live CD install, its a manual install thing and the Void community appears to have no HOW2 info.

Re: Changing Mint XFCE to LXDE

I'd am very interested in changing a system's XFCE DE to LXDE. I am trying to build a Void Linux system using LXDE but, even though LXDE is in Void's repositories it, appears that no one in the Void community can provide a step-by-step procedure for installing LXDE on Void which is pretty much what ...

Re: how to change default applications in Lubuntu.

So, I change/save the "desktop.conf" file or overwrite it with the one from another machine. But when I re-open "Default applications for LXSession". it does not show the changes made in the "desktop.conf" file I'm pretty much of a beginner in modifying LXDE outside it...

Applications not available to add to launch bar 2nd edition

On a fresh install of Debian 8.4 (Jessie) LXDE I find that the LXDE menu system does not contain a link to a program (gnome-terminal, installed via Synaptic) in any of its menu folders. Its executable is in /usr/bin, and it properly executes. It installed to LXDE correctly in Debian 7.5 (LXDE 4). I'...

Moving back to LXDE 4

Hello,

Been using LXDE for a little more than 2 years on Debian Wheezy.

I've just installed Debian 8.4 with LXDE on a new system; I find that Debian 8.4 is using LXDE 6.

I'd like to move back to LXDE 4.

How can that be done?

TIA

Re: Unable to Logout LXDE

imho you don't even have to drop to the shell to execute the script. as i said, and again only my humble opinion, lxde's sesson management is so marginal that you can just kill it. the shutdown command takes care of crucial things before cutting the power. apart from that, you are aware that you ar...

Re: Unable to Logout LXDE

this is unexpected behavior for a normal pc/lxde installation. i guess the answer to your problem lies with "preinstalled" and "beagle bone black". Hi, New poster here. I recently installed Debian 7.5 Wheeze (stable) configured for LXDE on one of my laptops. The other instance o...
