The problem seems to be solved.

I opened Synaptic
Searched for lxsession-logout
Marked lxsession-logout for installation
Applied
Installed

Now LXDE logout works again.

Yes, it's LXPanel 0.8.2. One solution from StackOverflow to the problem of logout doesn't work: To Log Off from LXDE: >Close all apps. >Launch Konsole or other terminal. >Issue the command <lxsession> >Log off happens. Also to hibernate from LXDE: >Issue the command <sudo pm-hibernate>

I took a "print screen" using KSnapshot, but I get an error message "file too large" when I drag it here.

I click the logoff button in the panel (running person in profile), and get the above error message.

Muon Discover is the package manager included with Kubuntu and the standard Plasma desktop. Plasma is OK, but is a slow resource hog on a PC with 2GB of RAM. Hence I installed LXDE, then XFCE.

Clidking the logout icon on the panel produces this message:
"Invalid desktop entry file: '/usr/share/applications/lxde-logout.desktop' "

Logout under File, nothing happens.

How can a larger font be obtained for LXDE menus and Libre Office menus? Thanks.
