psipika kindly responded... The images displayed by the plugin are those retrieved directly from yahoo. In other words, the plugin does not use 'stock' images on the host computer. The reason for doing that is complete transparency when it comes to the current conditions - the plugin doesn't have to...

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned I run Debian jessie with lxpanel 0.8.0 from experimental. Yes, AnyColorYouLike has weather icons. The stock icons (usually weather-clear.png, for example, or stock-weather-clear.png under an icon theme's status folder) are not being called from any icons...

Weather applet icons location?
Hi, first post here. I use lxpanel and AnyColorYouLike icons, and I'd like to use those icons for the weather applet. I was hoping I could rename the default icons and symlink the ACYL ones from that location, but I can't find the default icons. I figured it would be the gnome or Adwaita status icon...
