FreeBSD, Openbox, LXDE not sure which Forum to ask but will try all three in order. I would be grateful for advice or a steer in the right direction. I have a running LXDE desktop on FreeBSD which seems fine however "/home/USER/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml" file was created empty apparently...

Re: Future of LXDE
Sorry to wander off topic however it is such a rare sight to read anything quite so lyrical on any forum for computers that I just had to say how totally justified you praise of LXDE really is, clean, simple and wonderfully configurable for all pedants. Currently running well on Debian 11 shortly go...

Re: Printers missing
Hi, Not for the first time I have answered my own question, the GUI used by Debian LXDE is " System-config-printer " and once installed the link reapers in the Main Menu.
Hope this is helpful to someone.

Specify desktop in 'lxde-rc.xml'
I have specified desktops for certain applications in ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml Debian Bullseye Some work and some do not, this does not. Re: Can LXDE save size/position of shell/ternimal windows?
Well I have had a jolly time editing ~/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml and I have put the terminal window exactly where I want it however sizing the window does not seem to work by this method I suspect the /usr/local/sbin/lxterminal file has to be edited but for the moment I have restored my old edit t...

Re: Can LXDE save size/position of shell/ternimal windows?
When using the method I described the first window resizes to the dimensions entered in the desktop file but any new tabs keep the horizontal dimension but increase the vertical one. you're right! and here's the solution: http://ulyssesonline.com/2011/04/06/change-default-terminal-size-in-ubuntu/ j...

Re: Can LXDE save size/position of shell/ternimal windows?
This will control primary window size but does not fully control subsequent tabs are you saying the lxterminal window resizes itself when you open a new tab in it??? Yes! When using the method I described the first window resizes to the dimensions entered in the desktop file but any new tabs keep t...

Re: Can LXDE save size/position of shell/ternimal windows?
Hi, This is a problem I have looked at from time to time but do not have the understanding to fully solve. I have part of the answer which sadly can not credit to the original source. This will control primary window size but does not fully control subsequent tabs so I to would be interested in a de...
