Debian does not recomend installing the live CD on your hard drive. You should download the INSTALL CD from http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0 ... e-CD-1.iso and choose lxde from the installation menu.

I just installed an LXDE system with the Debian 504 LXDE-XFCE install ISO. I would like to launch fusesmb each time I log in. I have installed and tested fusesmb and it works 100%. Now I just want to automate it.

Re: Anyone know the Lubuntu release date?

There is a lubuntu-desktop metapackage in the Jaunty repos. I just took it for a spin and it's definitely not ready for primetime. If your interests mirror mine you should try WattOS. It's a very nice implementation of LXDE on Ubuntu. BTW: Biff at WattOS is thinking of switching from a Ubuntu core t...

Re: autologin ?

I just tried it. All it did was auto-populate the default user in the login window. I pressed [Enter] and was prompted for my password. Here are the changes I made. I had to do some cut-and-paste from your example above. I have hilited t he line that I edited and the section I added . # default user...
