Re: lxpanel shows generic icon for many apps? Any fix?

This is too bad. I was hoping someone had come up with some elegant way to inject the info when launching an app, if that makes any sense. Thanks for the help, though - you've saved me from a long and fruitless hunt. In case others are looking: I think one of the OSX style docs has the ability to cu...

Re: lxpanel shows generic icon for many apps? Any fix?

Thanks Marty Jack - you're prompt! The launchbar works the same as the menu. I'm going from memory at the moment and in a rush, but seems the menu uses icons defined in *.desktop files, so I'm not sure... oh, I bet you mean it looks in the same places and parses the names the same way. That makes se...

Re: lxpanel shows generic icon for many apps? Any fix?

Thanks - that helps in other ways (I didn't know where it was looking for icons w/out paths). However, while that applies to the menu it doesn't work for the panel. Perhaps I've missed something. Any hints anyone?

lxpanel shows generic icon for many apps? Any fix?

About half of my applications show up with the same default icon. I have to switch frequently between as many as 8 or 10 apps (I use the computer with LXDE to make music). It is hard to do so quickly when the icons are all the same. The icons are set to unique values in the various *.desktop files. ...

well, you need to change the ui for that, AFAIK. You could write a bug report/feature request.

This has been viewed 21 times since I posted it last night. Makes me think others have had similar problems. If so, please take a moment and add a simple "ME too" reply so that the admins see this is an issue. I just ran into it yet again when trying to figure out why nautilus is launching...

Way too many words unsearchable as "too common" here

Admins - I already tried sending a pm to the generic admin user, no reply. The search feature here has failed to be of much use since it rejects words such as: Menu, Custom, Default, File, Manager, Change, Desktop, etc. These should not be parsed out of searches. Please change this. Thanks I noticed...

lxpanel run defaults to cancel instead of OK on Enter

I know it is a small complaint, but I use alt-f2 a lot and find it bothersome that after typing in my command or tabbing to autocomplete it, I hit "Enter"... and it closes. After a few moments I kick myself for not remembering that I need to alt-O or add a tab in there, or, god forbid, use...

Re: New windows open partially under taskbar? Hiding Taskbar?

I used the alt-left-click+drag to move the windows down a tad but found it a distraction. I hadn't really noticed the resistance until you mentioned it, but set that higher and that, with the windows no longer appearing under the panel, makes it seem more intuitive.
