Re: Revisiting LXDE

For what it is worth, I heard an unsubstantiated rumor that the decision to move Lubuntu to LXQT was made because of a few individuals on the team who wanted to work on something new and exciting. Lubuntu in my opinion is no longer one of the "go to" distros for under powered, low Ram, or older com...

Re: Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article [SOLVED]

The actual problem: you succesfully changed the mousebind. but for which context? In my rc.xml, I found it under <context name="Frame"> I thought that means all window decorations, but apparently it means the whole window. Yeah, it was in the "Frame" context. It took me awhile to figure out what Fr...

Re: Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article [SOLVED]

Okay, here's everything I've done so far. 1. Earlier, I changed the bindings on all three configuration files: lubuntu-rc.xml, lxde-rc.xml, and rc.xml. (The latter is for openbox.) The change was to remove the Alt key from the right-click Resize binding. 2. I got the Resize function as desired, but ...

Re: Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article [SOLVED]

Man, that is so cool! THANK YOU!!! I didn't realize the commands worked that way...where you could just get rid of the control key (or whatever it's called) and leave the mouse part. But that certainly did the trick. Edit: There is a side effect I'm noticing. I seem to have lost my ability to right-...

Re: Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article

Good you found a partial solution. Yeah, it was pretty partial. After slogging through all the XML (I hate XML ) , I kinda lost sight of what I was really looking for, which was to demaximize AND get a window to resize. The partial solution was just a straight demaximize to the panel. However,...

Re: Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article

^ that might be an LXDE-specific setting. Can you show me the section of rc.xml that reflects this? I think part of the confusion is that dragging isn't necessary, and thus "drag" isn't in the rc.xml for this purpose. You simply middle-click the title bar and it unmaximizes. (I was middleclick-drag...

Re: Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article

If you have the file manager window open and maximized, then normally on other desktops you can simply drag the title bar down and it will be automatically unmaximized and windowed for you. All right, I figured this out, drooly, using the Help document you posted. What's missing from the above quot...

Re: Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article

AFAIU Openbox is one of the few things that are still used on LXQt ( and LXDE). I seem to remember what you want is possible, but I cannot find it now. I asked on the openbox mailing list. For now, you might want to take a closer look at this: http://openbox.org/wiki/Help:Actions Thanks for the rep...

Puzzled after reading a LXDE to LXQt article [SOLVED]

The article was actually a scathing review of the new Lubuntu, saying the old Lubuntu (with LXDE) was pretty good unlike LXQt. I agreed with a lot of the points. Then came the puzzlement: The final issue we ran into was that you can not resize maximized windows without hitting the “unmaximize” butto...

Re: Adding copy path to lxqt version

Folks at the LXqt forum pointed me to GitHub. GitHub closed the issue before I had a chance to add some follow-up comments (due to a family emergency). I probably wasn't going to get a good response anyway since someone had filed the same complaint previously and was told they didn't see a need to a...
