Re: Lubuntu and WPA2-PSK problems.
Pretty simple why it doesn't work with WPA2. The router is so old it predates WPA2, at least if I am reading the spec sheet correctly Hi Marty, The router supports WPA2-PSK or I wouldn't be able to change the encryption settings to that format. Interestingly, after I have done some more googling, i...

Re: Lubuntu and WPA2-PSK problems.
Here is a partial solution to my problems: 1) I changed the encryption to the inferior WPA-PSK 2) I changed the channel from 12 and moved it to a lower setting. Now both computers can access the network. However, I don't understand why Lubuntu has problems dealing with WPA2-PSK encryption. What is t...

Re: Lubuntu and WPA2-PSK problems.
Have you made sure your router is configured to support B and/or G and/or N depending on which standard level your different laptops run? If for example you had it G only and your laptop only supports B it won't be able to see the router. Hi Marty, According to the D-Link DI-524UP manual, 802.11g i...

Lubuntu and WPA2-PSK problems.
I just switched routers to a D-Link DI-524UP and now my laptops can't sort out the wireless connections. The Eee PC can find the SSID, but is unable to connect while my IBM can't even find the SSID in Lubuntu. I have also tried booting the IBM from a live CD - PCLinuxOS lxde-2010, but that distro co...

Re: Lubuntu - control startup session programs.
I can now get Tilda to start with the session, but only if it is both a .desktop file and included in the /etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart file. It now shows up in the "Desktop Session Settings". Weird. If I on the other hand include Osmo in the autostart file, there is only the one in...

Re: Lubuntu and TurboPrint applet.
Hi Marty,
TurboPrint comes with two management applications, both of which show up under the "preferences" section of the LXDE application menu. It is possible to add them using the application launch bar settings dialog. So in reality, what you are suggesting already exists.
Cheers

Re: Lubuntu - control startup session programs.
Cheers Hoppipolla.
There seems to be something else going on here. The xfce task manager lists tilda as active and it's state is "s", but there is no response to the keybinding.

Re: Lubuntu and TurboPrint applet.
NetworkManager aka "nm-applet" is running in the system tray, this is usable for all applications. A plugin for a panel is only for this panel and need to be rewritten for another panel. You can't compare these two applications! maces Cheers. So would it be an idea to push the company beh...

Re: Lubuntu and TurboPrint applet.
From the looks of it they also have a KDE panel applet. If you want all the comforts of GNOME or KDE, you should run GNOME or KDE. LXDE is not intended to be a copy of GNOME or KDE. It is smaller, lighter, faster. If it meets your needs, great. If not, not. I have no intention of doing work to impl...
