After every reboot the screen resolution is changing. use the one selected as default

One more other thing. The screen resolution is always changing. What do i have to do to keep the resulution selected permanently?

audio driver
I have a sis audio driver.
I just installed ubuntu 8.10 with lxde, then i upgraded to 9.04. At 8.10 i had sound, but in 9.04 i don't have sound.
I understood that ubuntu has sis drivers incorporanted so i don't have to install them, but i see that i don't have sound.
Please help
