I get the same problem -- UI dies, music keeps playing whenever I try to play a file. This happens both with lxmusic-0.4.2 from the debian squeeze/testing repos, and with a freshly compiled 0.4.4 version. I am running debian squeeze/testing on a turion64 x2 processor.
