I found it out! /etc/X11/xorg.conf needs to be edited with: Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Monitor "Configured Monitor" Device "Default Device" SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Virtual 1280 1024 EndSubSection EndSection
