Re: Loc-OS 23
There is a new Loc-OS iso at https://sourceforge.net/projects/loc-os/ Could not find anything new besides the updated custom Loc-OS kernel 5.10.214 – For you Guys it will be just as easy to customise as previous versions. As for myself everything is just fine with the previous kernel – so lightening...

Re: UNOFFICIAL antiX-23 “init-diversity” spin or LXDE..?
Just dropped antiX Diverse onto my old 2008 HP G60 3GB Laptop and was surprised just how well it performed. So credit is due to the developer and others at antiX for controlling the load on processor with 220MB RAM used at idle – well done :) Of course it will never match AntiX-22 Full LXDE at 147MB...

UNOFFICIAL antiX-23 “init-diversity” spin or LXDE..?
Well yes? UNOFFICIAL but OFFICIALLY available from their web link to… https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix-linux/files/Testing/ There are pages upon pages of self congratulation by the usual culprits for this leviathan of complexity with the largest menu list I have seen thus far not to mention th...

Re: AntiX-23 LXDE = SAFE – Simple AntiX Fast Efficient Pt:2
Synaptic PM says - Yad allows you to display GTK+ dialog boxes from command line or shell scripts. It is similar to Zenity but with more dialog types and options.
All those antiX GUIs use it.
Cheers

Re: AntiX-23 LXDE = SAFE – Simple AntiX Fast Efficient Pt:2
If you use that command I believe it will install 23.1 including all of the programs that you have thoughtfully un-installed. Thanks Rex – On your advice I will leave my LXDE setup as is. Yes, I am fully updated – every day :) BTW after installing HP printer packages then quickly uninstalling them ...

Re: Name (and width) of "Owner" column (in French) - or perhaps just translation, but where? - 2nd attempt
Hi Ludo, welcome back This OAP pensioner just searched root for ‘owner’ which gave 14 results Perhaps you could search user or root for seulement or seulement* ? The words within "Seulement le propriétaire" must exist somewhere downstream from the user folder? As to how to modify the confi...

Re: How can I make sure (in the config files) that pcmanfm does not attempt to mount anything
Hi Moon, Have you got gvfs installed? More important - have you got udisks2 installed with polkitd https://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/udisks/ also see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PCManFM With Synaptic PM you could mark pcmanfm for reinstallation which should restore config files to stand...
