what do you mean does your machine just startup and go to lxde ? I get a GUI login, I can only log in as a standard user, not root. After I log in, I go directly to LXDE. I prefer to prompted at the CLI, and I do want the GUI to start until I enter startx. Also, I would like to be able to shutdown,...

I just set up LXDE on Debian 5.0 (Lenny) but I am having a few issues: 1) I don't want LXDE to start up automatically.
