Just so you know, I have stopped using Network Manager. Instead I use wicd now. Haven't had any problems, and it seems to work very well. No issues connecting to my WPA2 network.

Yep, the Gnome Network manager will indeed work with LXDE. To get it to autostart you need to remove the "SHowOnlyIn=GNOME" line in the autostart, or add LXDE to it. Or you can move to something like wicd, which is what I use now. Wicd seems to work nicely, and I have not had any problems ...

Network Manager is set to start only in GNOME by default, but it will work fine in LXDE. Just go to your home folder, enable viewing hidden folders, and browse to .configure/autostart. You will see the network manager start program there. Edit it with a text editor. You will see a line that says som...

My connection has been persistent. It auto connects each time. Perhaps this has to do with madwifi. LXDE would not see my wireless (ra0). I installed madwifi in an attempt to connect, and configured madwifi to connect to my WPA. Now the network manager in LXDE sees my wireless card, and autoconnects...

I am running LXDE with Eeebuntu on the 1000. It works very nicely. Everything is faster, and it is reporting to me that I am getting an additional half hour of battery life. Streaming video no longer stutters. One of the best things is that eee-control works, so i can kill the touchpad! The bad ting...
