Re: Install fonts?
Thanks for the quick & friendly reply! I've been installing fonts in Linux (mostly KDE) for 8+ years with no problem other than the occasional poorly made font. I have absolutely no idea what those instructions mean; "with xset q, then you run fc-cache in that directory, then you xset fp re...

Re: Dropbox autostart
OK I can get the regular installer to work in Debian if you place everything in home (not opt).
I had to write a .desktop file in the autostart folder to call it at boot.

Install fonts?
How do you install fonts?
Right or left clicking fonts does nothing.
I can't be the first to ask this, but I see nothing in either the wiki nor the forums???
Thanks,
Lance

Re: Dropbox autostart
I'm doing something differently than you are... I put dropbox-dist in /opt I tried putting both the dropboxd shell into autostart & a symlink, neither worked. Where are you putting the dropbox-dist folder? Are you linking to dropboxd? Did you write a .desktop file linking somewhere? Thanks, Lance

Re: Where are the lxpanel plugins?
In other words: 1) If the Distro doesn't include them, the 99% of the world's population who aren't IT professionals nor hobbyists can't install them 2) Debian, with the largest package collection of any distro, doesn't support them. Sounds like someone who knows how needs to build some .deb package...

Where are the lxpanel plugins?
I looked in the Debian Squeeze repos, but I see only the netstats plugin, & only for Lenny (Stable)?
It might be explained on the wiki @ lxde.org site, but that seems to have been down all day.
Thanks,
Lance

Dropbox autostart
Apparently the regular Dropbox daemon doesn’t work in LXDE (right?), but the python version does. Problem is I can't find any way to autostart a python call.
Anyone?

http links not working (Thunderbird)
Yes, I know how it's supposed to work. ;) But it doesn't seem to be working. I've installed Debain testing (squeeze) with iceweasel & icedove. Icedove comes configured to open http & https links with x-www-browser which is, in turn, pointed to Iceweasel (firefox); so this should work. I have...

Dropbox opens with web browser?????
When I click on the Dropbox icon on the taskbar the dropbox folder on my hard drive opens in iceweasel (firefox) rather than in PCManFM. In ever other desktop environment I've seen, the folder opens in the file management program. Any ideas?

Distro Hell
Hi all, I'm a Linux end user, have been for several years. I'm trying to find a distro that actually works with LXDE out of the box: * Ubuntu broke their nVidia driver installer & is generally their usual "released before it's ready" * The Mandriva LXDE CD won't even boot--it's reporti...
