Openbox theme - what is this part called?

In relation to the example shown here, could anyone here tell me what the light blue line is called within Openbox theming code please? I'm referring to the line below the outer border, which seems to go from a mid-blue on the left to a turquoise on the right. Trial and error while replacing various...

Re: Is lxpolkit not currently used?

Thanks. That was the output from pkexec leafpad /etc/default/grub. (Same result with Mousepad and Geany but I would much prefer to keep this a gtk2-only system anyway (only Leafpad is gtk2), as there are a couple of easy on the eye and properly finished themes for gtk2, where to me gtk3 themes just ...

Re: Is lxpolkit not currently used?

If you or anyone who knows polkit are still there, this was the output: "polkit-agent-helper-1: error response to PolicyKit daemon: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1.Error.Failed: No session for cookie ==== AUTHENTICATION FAILED === Error executing command as another user: Not authorized T...

Re: Is lxpolkit not currently used?

If it helps solve this at all, I can confirm that the 'cannot open display' gripe doesn't happen with SDDM, for whatever reason. All four display managers have interacted differently with these issues. I'm inclined to settle for the one that's the least bother but would still like to see what's up w...

Re: Is lxpolkit not currently used?

Do you mean that polkit is a bit of a buggy problem or that I need to master it? I had changed my display manager to SDDM last night but also I tried using the Gnome front end for polkit. PKexec isn't working to launch things as I've been told we should, but sudo is working with leafpad and PCManFM ...

Is lxpolkit not currently used?

I use a mix of Debian 10 with Fluxbox, xdm and a few light applications like Leafpad and PCManFM. I assembled my setup with some naivety from the Debian netinstall iso, and I've now had various likely permissions-based issues. I was told elsewhere I need a polkit application in my startup file and s...

Using LXDE with other window managers?

I find myself returning to LXDE each time I briefly move to another setup, and though I discovered LXDE while limited to a low powered used machine I increasingly prefer everything simple, from themes to applications. Today, though, I had a try at using Metacity with LXDE as I had done when messing ...

'autohide'

Hello. I have searched this here and through ddg, thinking it would be a common wish. Can the LXDE panel be made to move out of the way for programs starting in a maximized window? I have altered Opera's desktop file so that it opens maximised but ideally I would get the F11 look for it and a few ot...

Pointer for my Openbox theme?

A tangent maybe, but if it's okay I'd like some assistance with this window border on my Debian LXDE setup. I think I had once had a better version of this theme, adapted from another Openbox theme, where I kept the black border lines when the window went maximized. They currently don't. Can it be d...

Re: Thinkpad T22 will not shut down

After much googling I find now that (in the terminal) sudo shutdown -h now works. How can I assign this to the shutdown process' normal method. It had not been 'halting' (-h) whatever the difference is there! Somewhere in LXDE I gather there is a script triggered by the power button or the longer ke...
