Yup.
Irritating at first, after a while, i gotta say i prefer this behaviour.
If you 'move' completely to LXDE, i figured that no gconf/dconf improve performance, and i had less grafical bugs without them.
At least on my laptop its that way.

Re: Can't get LXDE to save my settings?
Do you have Gnome DE installed as well?
With my first LXDE try, i had plenty of gnome apps installed, they caused the LXDE to run very unstable, and yes, settings were not save either.
On the other hand, if its a livecd, it wont save any settings (just want to say to comeplete).

Sofern du mit Batterie-Icon, die Leiste meinst welche dir den restliche Aufgeladenen Strom vom Laptop anzeigt,
kannst du das mit einem Rechtsklick aufs Panel, Settings, Applets -> Add -> Battery Monitor
wieder ins Panel holen.
Hoffe das Hilft

Re: Fedora 15 Live: Install to Hard Drive: Not enough RAM
In most cases, the biggest 'ram eater' is the GUI itself. If you have a DvD writer, or at least a 4gb usb stick, i'd suggest using the complete 'source', not a live spin Boot from the dvd/usb, and during the "wait x seconds to boot" select the command line installation. You wont have a fan...
