Then you either drag them to the desktop or copy/past.

I have three hard drives, one I keep Arch with KDE on, the second Windows 7
and the third for experiments. The third has at the moment Arch with lxde, openSUSE, Mandriva, Xubuntu, Mageia, and Windows XP x64.

I like your attitude. For some reason xubuntu runs better for me than lubuntu, but Arch with lxde seems the best of all. I've installed gdesklets and have a spiffy weather gizmo on my desktop if that's something you can use on lubuntu. I know lxde does not have a native weather app or panel plugin. ...

I'm running lxde on an Arch x64 system and it screams, much faster then lubuntu. Arch uses the excellent "pacman" package manager which is fast and powerful, not to mention you have access to the AUR which has all sorts of goodies available.
