Re: Power Management

http://geekacrossthepond.blogspot.com/2010/09/suspend-on-lid-close-with-lxde.html I tried this, and it was not successful. Preferences/Power Management is the Gnome Power Manager if installed. I have the package called gnome-power-manager installed, but that does not offer a GUI for power managemen...

Power Management - Fedora 15 LXDE

I'd like to have my computer go to sleep/suspend upon shutting the lid, and have it awaken when the lid is opened. I have an IBM ThinkPad T60, and it can do this in Windows and Gnome. Is there any way to add this functionality to my LXDE setup?

Re: Magical disappearing desktop

I am running Fedora 15. I was running Fedora 14 (and 13 and 12) before that. The default desktop environment before 15 was Gnome2. With the upgrade to Fedora 15, the default desktop environment became Gnome3 Shell. I disliked Gnome3 Shell, so I installed KDE. I disliked KDE, so I uninstalled it. The...

Re: Magical disappearing desktop

After removing a lot of Gnome components, including the session manager and nautilus, my panel is back to normal. And I now have a completely different login screen.

Can I get rid of gdm, or do I need it still?

Magical disappearing desktop

This evening, I encountered the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. I was making a new file manager bookmark using PCManFM. Suddenly, the PCManFM window disappeared, and so did my wallpaper. In its place was the wallpaper from my Gnome installation. Also visible on the desktop were other standard Nau...

Re: Totem missing application control icons

I can easily reproduce this issue. Switching from Mist to Oxygen in the icon theme causes Totem to lose icons.

Re: Totem missing application control icons

Just to be clear, my icon theme is Mist, my widget theme is Glossy, and my window-border theme is Onyx-Citrus.

Re: Totem missing application control icons

I had tried switching to a different icon theme before, but it didn't work. However, that's because the icon theme I switched to didn't have the right icons either. Switching to a much more thorough icon theme solved the problem. I'm now using Mist - which doesn't look as good, but is more complete.

Re: Totem missing application control icons

I'm using Fedora 15.

IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T60:
Intel Core Duo Yonah 1.66 GHz
2 GB RAM
Intel GMA 950 graphics

Yes, it's an older machine, but it's very stable. Never had any troubles with it before.
