Re: [REQUEST] LXAppearance improvements
I think I may mildly disagree in that putting a lot of new controls for cosmetic widgets, etc in LXDE will just make it like Gnome, KDE and the others. I really like the flexibility and simplicity that LXDE offers. I've found with a little work, searching, trial-and-error, etc that I have been able ...

Re: Increase width of window scrollbar
Window border width appears to be a function of the window theme. To see which theme you are using, check OpenboxConfigurationManager in Preferences . To change the geometrical parameters (for example, I changed border width from 1 to 8 for my theme) for a theme, edit /usr/share/themes/.../openbox-3...

Re: lxdecc control center - want to install it in Lubuntu 11
First, I admit that I have never used lxdecc, but it appears that everything lxdecc offers and more is already easily accessible with Customize, Openbox Config, Screensaver, Keyboard & Mouse - all in Preferences (Main Menu) - and Pcmanfm's taskar's Edit/Preferences . Wallpaper GUI is launched by...

Re: lubuntu sound problems
but the sound is coming off really bad, with quirks and "dirty". Even after a few reboots? The only other gimmick that I know is gnome-volume-control if you can get it installed (see my link). The LXDE mint distributions are better for sound control than Lubuntu, although the same control...

Re: Thinkpad T22 will not shut down
There are usually 2 or 3 shutdown execs, among which is always lxde-logout for an LXDE desktop. Go to /usr/share/applications and search for shutdown to see what you have available. Also, you might want to look in the other application directories. See http://douwil7.100webspace.net/linux/Tuning.htm...

Re: lubuntu sound problems
Be sure that pavucontrol, pulseaudio, pulseaudio-utils and libgtk-3-0 are all installed. Then play with the different settings in pulseaudio volume control and the controls in your player until you get sound. http://douwil7.100webspace.net/linux/Tuning.html#17

Re: Desktop as home dir
It has nothing about my question... http://douwil7.100webspace.net/linux/Tuning.html#11 I think the "places.sh" script modified to your situation coupled with a .desktop file does exactly what you want. In any case, it can be used to put a shortcut with icons of your choice to any, or all...
