I kept this setting (user-dirs.dirs) look at http://wiki.lxde.org/en/PCManFM under Setup --> Desktop path change ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs (as root) XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop" to XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME" it's just the other way round as described (most want a desktop and not ...
