2 months ago was announced "Infrastructure change: pootle.lxde.bsnet.se" ( http://blog.lxde.org/?p=949 ) after two months, there is no news, old site not works, new doesn't exists, in translators mailing list no one answers to this question... Wtf?

your desktop manager should have such feature, in my case LXDM has file /etc/lxdm/PreLogin which is executed before login.

without "--profile LXDE" i'm too getting wrong icons, but with that everything ok. i in your place would remove all lxde packages and then would reinstall again, if same then tried to create new user and test with it if same then downgrade lxde packages... another thing try: lxpanel --log ...
