Re: Weather applet for LXpanel
I really miss the weather applet that gnome 2 allows. So far, with gdesklets installed through synaptic and gdesklets.de, I cannot get news rss or any of the three weather desklets to work. I noticed after installing a desklet, you need to find & download the controll pyc file, then extract it t...

Re: main menu on panel not collapsing
I was doing it frequently. Now, rarely, but still. Pinguy 12.04, based on Ubuntu 12.04. I am using a desktop rotator script. I wonder if when it rotates while I am browsing the Start menu items, it may cause some part of the code to miss the directive to close the menu. The directive was sent, just ...

Re: Panel lacking mouse over tips
Breakthrough, I just right clicked on window list area to edit "Task Bar Settings". Even though mouse over tips were already enabled, when I clicked close, the hover tips suddenly started popping up for everything except the "Start Menu" Icon.

Re: Panel lacking mouse over tips
To clarify, I have hover tips on Menu items, just not panel (windows calls it taskbar and tray) items.

Re: Panel lacking mouse over tips
Are you saying your panel has hover tips? Only my clock does. I hardly think I have a bad lxde. Maybe there is some config entry where hover tip is turned off, hidden. If so, I want to know. LXPanel 0.5.8 I am running a P4 2ghz 1 meg ram. Nothing is hanging, running smoothly. In fact, faster than my...

Re: main menu on panel not collapsing
This only works for a while, then LXDE goes flakey and keeps the Start Menu open!! Clicking anywhere doesn't work. You can even minimize all windows and click on the wall paper and the menu WILL NOT collapse. So, this is a bug, not just a missing design. The bug will crop up at random times. (Kinda ...

Re: Panel lacking mouse over tips
I am using Ubu 12.04 with lxde from synaptic.
So it is the lxde taskbar/panel items that lack the hover tips, which instruct a new or casual user what the items do before clicking them.

Panel lacking mouse over tips
I think it is essential to have mouse over tips on bottom panel.
I cannot find out how to do this. Yes I can add launchers, but it is a mystery what each does, until you try clicking each and memorizing the function. End users just rely on these, these days.

main menu on panel not collapsing
It is a minor annoyance, one that is easily overlooked, so probably has not been discussed before: When I click the main menu button (apps./prefs/etc) and browse, usually she will not collapse when I move my cursor to an application or to do other things. I normally just click run, then cancel to cl...

Re: webilder going bonkers
The lxde wine application entries are missing too. I added what I could remember. I changed the default menu icon to a penguin face. I know someday I will get a frantic call at work from kid who cannot find the menu. I now can just say click on the penguin face in bottom left corner for the start me...
