Re: how to auto-hibernate at battery complete discharge

Thanks, Rex. I installed xfce4-power-manager. It's working very well. It helps having a GUI and an applet, too.
I leave this thread open for some little time, if it's ok. Maybe someone can help me understand what to do with hibernation.
Best regards.

how to auto-hibernate at battery complete discharge

Hi, I'd just like to know what laptop power manager comes with LXDE (or LXDE prefers to be installed in case there is none originally included) so to automatically hibernate before exhausting the battery. I mean, after installing Debian/LXDE and draining the battery out the comp just died with no sy...

Re: missed wireless connections in NetworkManager

SOLVED!!!!!!!!! I had completely forgotten there were two firmware packages Debian failed to find when installing. One of them is "iwlwifi" (full name iwlwifi-6000g2b-6.ucode ; still don't know what the other package is for, but it's called rtl.nic/rtl8168e-3.fw ) and the four steps given ...

Re: missed wireless connections in NetworkManager

Yes. It's on and it was always on, I think. It's just that I've never watched the icon next to the light.

Re: missed wireless connections in NetworkManager

I'm even more confused!!! I purged NetworkManager and changed it for Wicd, which I know better, just for a trial. and it doesn't scan either. I got into another installation in this machine (Debian-Fluxbox as this, but corrupted and now useless for regular things) and had the following answer to the...

Re: missed wireless connections in NetworkManager

http://lxlinux.com/#16 After tryng some downloads suggested I couldn't get much help from it. Unfortunately, I can't confirm "There is usually enough information about your connections in Connection Informations to set-up a connection in Edit Connections" either, at least for this case. T...

Re: missed wireless connections in NetworkManager

I guess I desabled it. (Edit: When "wireless connections" were available in the panel, there was an option to disconnect similar to the one below Wired connections, and I just hit it. So now I think I disconnected it ). If the file has become corrupted in some way, delete it and then add i...

missed wireless connections in NetworkManager

Hi, this is trivial, sorry... but maybe because of that I can't find a good answer in FAQs and forums. I once manually deactivated wireless connections in NetworkManager and I can't activate them again, therefore nm does not re-scan connections. I tried purging and reinstalling as a workaround, but ...
