Is there any way to put an entry for an ap in the root of the main menu as opposed to in a category folder? In other words put entries for launching specific aps without going to a submenu? Failing that, does anyone know of an alternate menu ap I could replace the menu with, that will be more config...

I installed big-cursor but I can't figure out how to switch to it. It hasn't shown up with the cursors in appearance. I thought when I installed it once before it became selected automatically. This time I can't even find it. Any suggestions?

No, it always comes back fine after rebooting. When I right click on the panel, click panel settings, make some adjustment, and click the close button, the changes I make are reflected in the text file /home/me/.config/lxpanel/LXDE/panels/panel and whatever is in that file is what I get on reboot.
