Re: Run fbpanel Over Window Titlebar?

I think I figured it out:

In fbpanel's settings, choose Width = 75; Height =22; Edge = top; Alignment = center; untick "do not cover by maximized windows"; tick "set 'Dock' type"; tick "Set stacking layer"; choose "Panel is above all windows"

Run fbpanel Over Window Titlebar? [SOLVED]

I'm running Lubuntu 16.04 in an old Asus EEE 900 netbook. Given its 9" screen, I'm looking to save as much space as possible. I've got fbpanel running nicely, with genmon printouts of vitals much like a conky. But rather than the window and fbpanel sharing the screen, I would like to make fbpan...

Re: Need to Disable All Clicking on Desktop

Conky's very light, and b/c it can tell you so much about the system, you can get rid of most monitoring apps on the tray. Conky's a big reason why I can keep my desktop icon-free.

Re: Need to Disable All Clicking on Desktop

This is the workaround for running an always-visible conky with LXDE on an icon-less desktop. Make this an executable script in an autostart directory: sleep 3 killall pcmanfm sleep 3 && conky ; The initial sleep 3 is impt b/c it allows the desktop to establish itself. Once pcmanfm is killed...

Need to Disable All Clicking on Desktop

Lubuntu 12.04 on Lenovo S10-3t netbook. This pertains to a conky bug, and I'll try not to bore people with the problem; but I would welcome a solution. To summarize: in .conky.rc, using "own_window_type desktop" allows me to use LXDE's "minimize all windows" and keep conky always...

Re: Creating Utterly Transparent Taskbar?

Yes, that does successfully hides the taskbar, many thanks. Still wouldn't mind seeing the given window along with nothing but the panel electives (clock, battery, etc), but certainly this is an ingenious manager with much to tweak behind its low-resource simplicity.

Re: Creating Utterly Transparent Taskbar?

Actually, I was hoping that a transparent taskbar would me see through to whatever window, not just the desktop. But I get it now, and thank you for your follow-up.

Re: Creating Utterly Transparent Taskbar?

Thank you both for your quick replies. I have reduced opacity to zero, and while that works for the desktop screen, when I'm in another app, the taskbar is showing the desktop background rather than true transparency. Is that the way LXDE is built? That zero opacity makes it take on the color of the...
