Re: Inhibiting the desktop menu on right-click

I think there are more elegant ways of solving this.
the keyword is "kiosk", several distros specifically designed for that exist, and many more tutorials i suppose.

Re: setting window frame width

i know exactly what you're talking about.
the choice of words might be unfortunate here, but it does not change what i wrote before.
just replace "window border" with "window decoration theme" in your mind.

and to actually change the border width, edit the themerc.

Re: Web Server

Lubuntu is not really a server distro.
it would be best to use a separate machine (an old, discarded laptop for example) as a server, without any gui or xserver, text only, and ssh into it for maintenance.
fwiw, i use debian stable as a server distro.

Re: Best volume indicator OSD for linux

god, this sort of whining is so annoying.
there's hundreds of linux distros listed on distrowatch alone, i'm sure you can find something that fits your bill, so quit complaining and do something about it.

Re: setting window frame width

it seemed odd that there exists a "look and feel" GUI tool which includes a tab entitled "window border" which does not allow you to set the window border ;? it allows you to set the theme of the window decorations; but it is the theme itself that defines the width of the border...

Re: setting window frame width

Presumably that is going to disappear next time I do an update. Is there a way to make the user dependent and persistent? create a folder in $HOME/.local/share/themes. copy the whole theme in question over there, so it looks like this: $HOME/.local/share/themes/Clearlooks/open*/themerc that one won...

Re: Best volume indicator OSD for linux

lxde is lightweight.
what you ask for is not.
if you need it so badly, you should try gnome or xfce or kde.
or maybe the applications in question can be installed separately, i really wouldn't know.

Re: lxpanel moved to external monitor

wild guess:
maybe you need to set it to monitor 0 (zero)?
